Medical Weight Loss Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions people have about Millennium Med Center for Medical Weight Loss. Feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to provide any other information you need.

Does insurance cover any of the medical weight loss program costs?

Insurance coverage is variable. First, it depends on which particular weight loss program is recommended for your particular weight loss needs. It can also depend on how much weight you have to lose. And, finally, it depends on the type of insurance coverage you have. When you come in for your initial consultation, we will determine, together, which program costs may be covered.

How much does this medical weight loss program cost?

Again, costs vary depending on the medical weight loss program, the amount of weight loss involved, your medical diagnosis, and your insurance coverage. We will be happy to check your insurance coverage prior to your consultation. We will cover subsequent program costs and other critical program facts during our consultation.

Do I have to be extremely overweight to be eligible for the medical weight loss program? What if I only need to lose 10 -15 pounds?

Our weight loss programs are not simply for people who are extremely overweight but are for anyone who is unhappy or feels unhealthy due to their weight. We will tell you if you shouldn’t, or don’t need to lose weight, or if you are not the right candidate for one of our weight loss programs for any reason. Our goal is your overall health.

Are your weight loss programs safe if I have diabetes or any other medical conditions?

Not only are the Millennium Med Center for Medical Weight Loss programs safe for people with diabetes, hypertension, and other medical problems – they are helpful in controlling any further complications that result from these diseases. More than this, our weight loss programs can help alleviate many of the other conditions that result from obesity, including arthritis, coronary artery disease, sleep apnea, lower extremity edema, hypertension, and high cholesterol.

How many medical weight loss programs do you have?

Millennium Med Center for Medical Weight Loss offers four basic weight loss programs. Each weight loss program is individualized based on your needs and requirements and includes personal counseling and an exercise regimen recommendation.

How long do I have to stay on any of these weight loss programs?

The length of time you may stay on any weight loss program depends on which program you are on, how much weight you need to lose and – most important – how motivated you are. As you know, weight loss is not about a “quick fix!” When you move from the initial phase of any weight loss program to maintenance phases, your goal is to establish healthy eating habits you can follow your life long. The programs at Millennium Med Center for Medical Weight Loss are comprehensive weight loss programs that include behavior modifying counseling, as well as an exercise recommendation, created to help you achieve ongoing success.

How often do I have to visit your medical weight loss center?

Again, it depends on the medical weight loss program requirements. The Low-Calorie diet usually requires a visit every one to two weeks. The Prescription Drug program requires a monthly visit.

Do you see a lot of your patients losing weight?

Yes! Almost all of our patients lose weight. And, with ongoing focus, they keep it off!
